Our Story
Julianne James Borne
Ed.S., CALT-QI, LDT
Julianne is a Shoals native who is passionate about making reading accessible to children of all ages. After graduating from Mississippi College in 2017, Julianne taught 7th grade English in a public school system near Jackson, MS. She immediately noticed that many of her students needed more help than what she could provide in the classroom and knew she was called to help students who seem to fall through the cracks in school. In 2019, she earned a Master’s degree in dyslexia therapy and found great fulfillment in helping struggling students in one-on-one and small group settings. Julianne also holds an Ed.S. degree in psychometrics and is qualified to administer a battery of tests to students with reading difficulty. With over 7 years of experience in education, and specifically the field of dyslexia, she has worked in various public and private school settings and has also served in an administrative role at a private practice in Nashville. She recently moved back to Florence, AL with her husband, Zach, and they welcomed their daughter, Merit James in May. She is so excited to get to work with students and families in the Shoals area!
